Hype is through the roof right now in Utah as the new NHL team is set to embark on its first campaign in the coming weeks.
Even though the team doesn't have an official name yet, the owner Ryan Smith of the Smith Entertainment Group has already made it clear that they will wait until the 2025-26 season before revealing a new name and team logo.
Why are they waiting so long? They want to take their time to choose the best possible option, and what better way to do it than by letting the fans choose?
That's what's going to happen, as fans have been called to vote on their favorite name from a pre-established list, which includes Venom, Outlaws, Yeti, and many more.
While the results haven't been made public, Utah HC's star forward Clayton Keller made an interesting declaration in a recent interview on NHL.com. He stated that it looks like the name will be "Yeti," even if nothing has been confirmed yet.
Check out what he said:
With all the interesting additions Utah Hockey Club made this summer, including Mikhail Sergachev, Keller could be in a position to have one of the best seasons of his career.
At 26 years old, he already has 520 NHL regular-season games under his belt, but only nine in the playoffs. He's been lifting the whole franchise up for the past eight years, with an impressive career tally of 418 points, including 166 goals.
There's no doubt that if he continues to perform well, Keller could become a real superstar in the National Hockey League and finally get the recognition he deserves. This first season in Utah promises to be interesting to follow, a feeling that hasn't been felt in a long time in Arizona.
