Vancouver Canucks Have Set Their Sights on a Major Draft Day Trade
Draft Day is always exciting because...well...it's the draft. In addition to learn who'll be the next generation of players, there's often some important trades being done that day.
It was just reported that a massive trade could happen at the draft between the Vancouver Canucks and the New Jersey Devils.
Canucks Interested in Severson
Elliotte Friedman reported that the Vancoucer Canucks would call for Damon Severson's rights if they can clear cap space.
As reported on Twitter:
"According to Friedman, if #Canucks can clear cap space, absolutely they can call NJD for Severson's rights. Severson he would absolutely be interested in a place like Vancouver."
He adds that the 29 years-old defenseman would be interested in playing in Vancouver. After playing the last seven seasons in New Jersey, Severson's role could be very different from the one he had with the Devils.
However, the defenseman could ask for a significant raise from the $4.166M he's been making in New Jersey.
That's why the Canucks will have to free some space to land him.
Do you think they'll go for it?
