Trade completed between the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks
A trade between the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks that occured in February is now finally completed, following the Canucks' tough elimination.
It was finally confirmed last night: the Edmonton Oilers will meet with the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals, after a 3-2 win over the Canucks in Vancouver.
Following the loss, the details of a trade that was completed before the deadline were finally confirmed.
The Canucks agreed on the terms of a deal with the Calgary Flames for the forward Elias Lindholm.
In return, Vancouver sent Andrei Kuzmenko, the rights to prospects Joni Jurmo and Hunter Brzustewicz, their 2024 first round pick and a conditional fourth round pick of the same year.
CapFriendly just shared that the conditional 4th round pick could've become a third round pick if the Canucks had reached the Conference Finals. Unfortunately for them, that didn't happen, and they got a fourth round pick.
"Draft Pick Condition Update:
The 2024 4th round pick the Vancouver #Canucks sent to Calgary #Flames as part of the Elias Lindholm trade, will NOT upgrade to a 2024 3rd round pick."
This is unfortunate for the Canucks, who were only one game away from getting a better draft pick.
In 13 playoff games with the Canucks this year, Lindholm played his role, tallying 10 points, including five goals.
More to come.
