Gary Bettman Causes Outrage With Recent Decision: His Controversial Rule Has Now Blocked Golden Knights Goaltender Logan Thompson From Supporting an Amazing Cause
Gary Bettman is once again under the spotlight for a bad reason.
This time, because he forbade a player to support an important cause.
Bettman in Hot Water After Forbidding a Player to Wear Cancer Ribbon
Yesterday, the Golden Knights and the San Jose Sharks were playing against each other.
Logan Thompson, who was Vegas' backup goalie, wanted to wear a Cancer ribbon on his helmet for the Hockey Fights Cancer Month in the NHL, but wasn't allowed by the League.
"Per sources, #VegasBorn goalie Logan Thompson wanted to put a Cancer ribbon on his helmet design but was told he couldn't by the NHL. It is Hockey Fights Cancer Month in the NHL. Thompson is the backup goalie tonight against the #SJSharks."
A Sad Moment in Hockey: Bettman Has Got to Go
This is truly sad. Such a universal cause should be promoted by everyone, all the time.
The NHL holds a special month for the cause, and they don't even allow a player to wear a simple ribbon.
Players should be allowed to support whatever causes they'd like.
