Jo Marchessault Confesses to Tensions with Coach Bruce Cassidy
The Vegas Golden Knights are coming off a fairytale season where they were able to capture the Stanley Cup in just their 6th season as a franchise. But the path to the cup wasn't always an easy one.
Recently Jonathan Marchessault opened up about his struggles with head coach Bruce Cassidy during their time together.
«It hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows between us,» he confided in French to TVA Sports. «We yelled at each other a couple of times, on the bench, during games, during the playoffs. But I think he wanted the best out of me and we managed to be able to work together.»
Iron Sharpens Iron
If anything, the struggles between the star Vegas forward and the head coach demonstrate that some infighting is going to happen on winning teams. That is just part of sports. And clearly, Cassidy did something right, as Marchessault put up numbers worthy of a Conn Smythe.
Even though Marchessault's conflict is easily overlooked because of his play, it quickly becomes more of an issue if he isn't putting up record numbers. Hopefully, for Vegas fans, this isn't something the franchise will have to worry about.
