Loaded with cash, the Vegas Golden Knights became the NHL's 31st team back in 2017/18, and now, six years later, they sit as Stanley Cup Champions, but not everything is going well for their front office.
A major charge
Recently, it was reported that the girlfriend of Gavin Maloof, a minority owner in the team is being charged with both theft and money laundering over a major revelation.
According to the report, Jennifer Courtemanche stole almost $500,000 from Maloof between 2020 and 2023 by constantly transferring money to her account from his phone without him noticing.
An arrest warrant
An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday for the 44-year old, and she is currently free on bond until her hearing which is scheduled for March 11th of 2024.
The court has also determined that her purported talent agent was in on the act as well, with 214 transactions totalling $498,000 have been reported, and it's safe to say that she's likely to get in a lot of trouble for this when it heads to court next year.
