The rivalry between Evander Kane of the San Jose Sharks and Ryan Reaves of the Vegas Golden Knights goes on.

Reaves received a match penalty during game one of the Knights' second round series against the Colorado Avalanche Sunday night for attempting to injure Ryan Graves. The penalty means an automatic hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety, to which Kane had the perfect response ready to go.

"Instead of a suspension they should have to play him 20 minutes a night for the rest of the series," said Kane on Twitter.

The rivalry between Kane and Reaves goes back a couple of years now and has produced many moments on and off the ice between the two. That includes plenty of chirping, fights and insults on social media.

Reaves would end up with a double minor and match penalty after Graves made a questionable hit on Golden Knights forward Mattias Janmark. Janmark was injured on the play and needed some help getting to the dressing room. Graves was given a two-minute minor for interference, which didn't sit well with the Golden Knights.

In the third period, after the whistle, Reaves appears to crosscheck Avalanche goaltender Philipp Grubauer in the back of the head, before grabbing Graves and tackling him to the ground. While on the ground, it looks like Reaves put his knee on Graves' head and punching him at the same time. Reaves was given a match penalty for intent to injure. Any match penalty is subject to review from the NHL's Department of Player Safety, which means Reaves will have a hearing in the next couple of days.

The Avs defeated the Golden Knights 7-1 in the first game of the series.
