Tom Wilson has been linked to many teams over the past few weeks. Teams like the Senators have been interested in acquiring him to bolster their top six with some bite. He was reportedly garnering a lot of interest but may have not been after all.
NHL insider Pierre LeBrun spoke on Wilson and relayed an important message from Capitals GM Brian MacLellan.
Bertuzzi An Option
With the Caps GM shutting down these rumors, teams in need of a top-six winger will need to look elsewhere for a player like Wilson. One of the places they could find a Wilson-type player is on the free-agent market with top player Tyler Bertuzzi.
Bertuzzi plays a very similar style to Wilson and will likely be the top free agent this offseason in a rather weak class.
