BREAKING: Winnipeg Jets Shock Fans With New Captain
The Winnipeg Jets have shocked everybody with their new captain.
Winnipeg's New Captain
The Winnipeg Jets have just named their new captain and their choice has shocked fans.
Allow him to reintroduce himself.
Adam Lowry, Captain of your Winnipeg Jets Adam Lowry is one of the longest-tenured Jets right now. He was originally selected in the 3rd round of the 2011 draft by Winnipeg and has established himself as one of the best third-liners in the NHL.
While he is not known for his offense, Lowry can still pitch in, posting 36 points last season.
He beat out more skilled players like Mark Scheifele and Norris candidate Josh Morrissey for the captaincy so Lowry's leadership must be head and shoulders above that of the rest of the locker room.
Lowry will become the Jets' first captain since Blake Wheeler was stripped of his captaincy in 2022-23. Lowry will become the 3rd captain in Jets history. Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler were the only other two in the Jets history since relocation.
