The young Canadian phenom decided to partake in the physical testing portion of the Scouting Combine despite his runner-ups Adam Fantilli and Leo Carlsson opting out. While many expected Bedard to dominate the Combine's events given his incredibly muscular frame, he greatly disappointed with his results.
Bedard finished top ten in just one event throughout the entire combine, that event being the Wingate. Bedard placed 9th in that event. It's safe to say fans expected a bit more out of Bedard this past weekend.
When asked why he performed so poorly at most of the event's tests, Bedard had this to say for himself.
While it is true that Bedard hasn't played as recently as some other top prospects, this type of answer from the young star is relatively rare. Bedard is never one to make excuses for himself, so this answer came as a surprise to many.
In all reality, these test results mean very little about Bedard as a player. He may not be as physically strong as other players, but he's the top-ranked prospect for a reason. Bedard will dominate the league someday, and nobody will remember his poor performances at the Scouting Combine.
As Seen on Hockey Latest - Connor Bedard dominated absolutely nothing at the Combine, and that's causing quite a stir.
