Brad Marchand absolutely hammers Matthew Tkachuk
In the NHL playoffs, fans are hardly surprised when one player takes a shot at another player. However, those watching the Boston and Florida game tonight were shocked after Brad Marchand absolutely hammered Matthew Tkachuk on the ice.
The Boston Bruins had a hard road taking down the Toronto Maple LEafs in seven rounds. Now, they are in their second game against the Florida Panthers and have held nothing back in their fight to redeem, themselves from their loss to the team last year.
Bruins captain Brad Marchand made this apparent during the first period of this evening's game. Florida Panthers forward and alternate captain Matthew Tkachuk saw an opportunity to score and attempted a fancy move that would let him score a goal shoot between his own legs. However, Marchand stopped this by slamming into him, forcing him onto the ice in the corner of the rink.

Brad Marchand has garnered a reputation as "The Rat," and it surprises few when he takes a shot at another player. However, Tkachuk is at least five inches taller than the player, making this a far more embarrassing outcome for the Panthers forward.

Though Charlie Coyle earned the game's first goal for the Bruins, Florida is now up 2-1 with less than seven minutes in the second period. If Boston wants to prevent a series tie, they will need to play like they are already in the Cup Finals. If not, it could be a repeat loss to the Panthers.
