Sheldon Keefe Explained His Latest Controversial Decision
The Toronto Maple Leafs have added significant depth to their defense in the past week, but it has created a new challenge for the team. The Leafs now have 10 defensemen on their roster, all of whom are capable of playing in the NHL, but only six spots available for each game. This means that some of these skilled players may not get a chance to play as often as they would like. It was the case of Timothy Liljegren, who sat out of the last two games.
Sheldon Keefe Explained Why He Took Timothy Liljegren Out Of The Lineup
Every player knows that they must work hard and play at their best to avoid being left out of the lineup.
Maple Leafs coach, Sheldon Keefe, has emphasized that while Liljegren is an important player, the team's defense is now deeper, and the standard for staying in the lineup is higher.
Here's his full statement:
"He's an important guy for us, but, as I've talked to him about our team is deeper on defence now. The standard is higher in terms of staying in. He was in a similar situation last season."
