Treliving Gives An Injury Update On Knies

During his post-deadline press conference, Brad Treliving spoke on various topics. One of those topics was the health of forward Matthew Knies. Knies was injured due to a collision in last night's game.

Knies would go on to miss the rest of the game putting his ability to play next game into question. According to Treliving's latest update Knies is fine and was held out as a precaution.

Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving said Matthew Knies "wanted to play" after leaving the game last night, but the team kept him out for precautionary reasons.

"It wasn't necessarily protocol. We just felt the best to hold him out precautionary for the rest of the game."

Today was a day full of news regarding Matthew Knies as he was also sent down to the AHL. The move is just a paper transaction and Knies should be back up on the NHL roster by tomorrow.

Treliving also confirmed that not only is Knies feeling good but he is expected back for the game against the Montreal Canadiens.

This is great news for a Toronto Maple Leafs squad who's only addition up front was Connor Dewar. This means the Maple Leafs still see Knies as a key piece to their playoff success.
