Barry publicly apologized to his goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin who lost his shutout a few minutes before the end.
"We had the lead by 5 goals in the third period and I wanted to rest my best players and give gifts to other players who are usually less used, for example on the power play. It cost us goals and especially it cost our goalie a shutout and I went to see him to apologize after the game. I take the blame, it was my fault."
- Barry Trotz
Oh wow, that's a first!
