Cale Makar Addresses His Now-Viral Declining of a Power Play in His Post-Game Interview
Cale Makar did something very special yesterday. After seemingly being tripped by Mat Barzal, the referees put their hands up indicating a penalty. Makar, knowing that it wasn't a fair penalty as he simply lost a tire waved at the referees to call the penalty off.
He essentially took away a power play from his team just because he's a good guy. His Lady Byng candidature is definitely becoming a story!
In his post-game interview, Makar addressed the now-viral clip:
He was candid about the spur-of-the-moment decision he made, and he made a little dig at the referees in the process.
Saved the ref from some media attention tonight, that's for sure
Makar is bound to have a great career, and despite his stardom, he won't let himself take advatage of the game. Impressive showing by the 24-year-old.
