The Montreal Canadiens have plenty of forwards with NHL contracts and according to what Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now reports, Kent Hughes could be moving again soon.
The sacrificed would be newcomer Evgenii Dadonov.
Dadonov was acquired in the trade sending Shea Weber's contract to Las Vegas.
His deal is for $5 million until the end of the year and D'Amico is confident he could change his address by the start of next season.
If the Canadiens retain back some of his salary, the 43-point scorer from last season could be a very interesting prospect for a team, especially since Hughes is looking for an experienced defenceman. An overpaid right-handed defenceman for an overpaid forward in a 1-for-1 trade?
Why not!
To be continued.
