Campbell has a 1.88 goals against average and a.936 save % in 10 appearances, and the cost of a Campbell extension is rising with each game.
In a recent podcast, Don Cherry emphasised that the Leafs must sign Campbell quickly.
"They should sign him quick," said Cherry on the podcast. "They should sign him."
Cherry not only urged the Leafs to re-sign Campbell, but he also predicted the front office would do so. Cherry expects GM Kyle Dubas will reach an agreement with Campbell within the month.
"I'll make a prediction that they'll sign him within 3 weeks to a month because he just keeps getting better and better," added the former NHL head coach.
They got really lucky with Jack Campbell!
