Nazem Kadri has become one of the most sought UFA this off season. He is playing his best hockey with the Colorado Avalanche.
One Eastern conference team is already considering giving him an offer this summer.
The Washington Capitals could gain some cap relief next season and go for Kadri, according to Sammi Silber of Washington Hockey Now.
By placing forwards Nicklas Backstrom and Tom Wilson on long-term injured reserve, the Caps might free up some cash. Wilson is missing half of next season and Backstrom is dealing with a long term injury.
