Eliotte Friedman Discloses the Asking Price on Jesse Puljujarvi
As Jesse Puljujarvi's time in Edmonton is inevitably coming to an end, the mystery around his asking price is a big one.
There are several layers to determining an asking price on such an interesting player.
On one hand, he's a 24-year-old former 4th overall pick who's defensive metrics are among the best in the league.
On the other hand, he's a 24-year-old former 4th overall pick with only six points in 30 games making $3-million.
At the draft it was reported that the Oilers were actively seeking a second round pick in exchange for the power winger. Now, Elliotte Friedman has reported that the ask has remained the same, despite there being no takers.
As the 2023 draft will be very deep with talent, teams will definitely be weary to trade second rounders that could notch them first round talents. Due to that, Edmonton's ask is bound to get lower as the trade deadline looms and Evander Kane's salary eventually comes back on the books.
If Puljujarvi hits his potential, any team who acquires him will come out as bandits. If he continues his underwhelming play, however, a trade may not look so good.
