Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen will become an unrestricted free agent in July 2023.
Several rumours have arisen in recent months. A trade? A contract extension? Nothing was certain.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman added a layer to that, during his most recent 32 Thoughts podcast. According to him, the CH is still undecided about offering Jake Allen a contract extension.
The Carey Price situation has complicated things, especially when some teams called Kent Hughes to acquire Allen. Now, with Price on the long-term injured list, will the Tricolore GM announce a contract extension for the New Brunswicker soon?
To be continued.
