Eminem delivered a message by kneeling in the middle of the Super Bowl LVI halftime show on Sunday, despite claims that the NFL would not allow him to do so earlier in the day.
After performing alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige, the "Lose Yourself" artist kneeled at the end of the event.
However, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy disputed that key aspects of the performance surprised anyone.
«It was no surprise to us,» he told HuffPost Sunday. «We watched all elements of the show during multiple rehearsals this week and were aware that was going to happen.»
