Hockey World Suffers Another Tragic Loss After A Mid Game Medical Emergency

The hockey community has been dealing with a lot of grief in recent weeks. After the tragedy involving Adam Johnson another player has now passed away in the middle of a game.
Player Collapses Mid-Game Due To Cardiac Issue
During a Russian amateur hockey game tragedy struck. A player named Mikhail Yanchishin collapsed during play and was unresponsive. He can be seen clutching his chest as his teammates desperately try and help him. Despite the players on the ice's best effort, Yanchishin did not survive.
"61-year-old Armata forward Mikhail Yanchishin suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed on the ice."
According to reports the medical personnel available to help Yanchishin was nonexistent.
Medical Professionals Not Available When Needed Most
A report that has come out since Yanchishin's passing has indicated that no medical personnel were available on sight.
"According to eyewitnesses, the doctors in the arena were not on duty at that moment, and the arriving doctors were no longer able to save the man."
His exact cause of death has not been announced however it is highly suspected to be a cardiac event. While there will always be loss and grief in life the past couple of weeks feel to be filled with more of those things than normal for the hockey community.
Hopefully, there will be brighter days ahead for the hockey community after a tough month.
