The IIHF confirmed what we expected. The NHL won't allow NHL players under contract to play for their respective countries in the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.
IIHF president Luc Tardif confirmed what we already knew, but fans had fingers crossed we could somehow still see some players find a way to participate.
Teams are also not allowed to loan players out to their countries also. Luc Tardif said: "Any action taken by any stakeholder which jeopardizes this cooperation will not be tolerated."
