Seeing as Chara would love to stay in the East near his family, a new rumour developed that Chara could join the New York Rangers.
Jimmy Murphy linked him to the Rangers.
«I've heard him linked to the Islanders recently, but it was more of hearsay and speculation,» an anonymous source told Jimmy Murphy for an Aug. 19 story. «It makes a ton of sense but then look at the Rangers too; imagine Adam Fox getting even better under a mentor like Zee?»
Chara showed he still has some gas left in the tank.
The Future Hall of Famer scored 10 points, averaged 18:19 in ice time in 55 regular-season games and averaged 16:16 in ice time in five games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
