According to information from Cogeco Network Canadiens game describer Martin McGuire, (and as reported by Christian Matte of Marqueur.com), Tricolore goaltender Jake Allen has come close to being traded to Edmonton.
"I was saying it before the report, I was saying it this morning: the Oilers did try to make a trade with the Habs. Obviously, the Oilers may not have been willing to go to the Habs' price, or obviously, given the situation, the Habs may have preferred not to trade Allen. Either way, there were teams interested, is what I'm saying." - Martin McGuire
Not knowing the real future of Carey Price, Kent Hughes was right to want to get the moon for Allen.
Unfortunately for Holland, he'll have to deal with Mike Smith and Mikko Koskinen for the playoffs.
