In a press conference on Thursday, Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews delivered his message to the team's new GM.
"I'd like to sit down with [general manager Kyle Davidson] and the coaching staff more often. I think sometimes it helps to hear their honesty. I think it helps to have that communication, to know what they want from me and for me to know what they want and what my job is as a player and captain in the locker room," he admitted Thursday in a press conference.
"It would be nice to know what's going on in the details, up to a certain point. Then I could control what I can control and just do my job," the 33-year-old veteran hammered.
Does he ever think about a trade?
"It goes through my mind, obviously, but Chicago is my home. I love the Blackhawks, I love the organization. It's been my family for a long time and I don't put the cart before the horse," Toews mentioned last month.
The Manitoban has 31 points in 63 games this season.
