Since coming into the league in 2017, the Vegas Golden Knights have looked nothing like NHL expansion teams in the past, having considerable success in the regular season and playoffs each year so far. Fans have been great as well, as the T-Mobile Centre is usually packed with loud fans. However, Tuesday night, the Knights received boos from their hometown crowd, something to team isn't used to.

Boos rained down as the team was heading off the ice for the second intermission with the Montreal Canadiens up 3-0 and that point. They were heard again during a powerplay in the third period when the Knights couldn't seem to get anything going. Vegas player Brayden McNabb responded following the 4-1 loss to Montreal saying his team probably deserved it.

"We weren't playing very well, so maybe we deserved it," said McNabb. "We have great fans, we love our fans. I'm sure they were frustrated, as were we."

His assessment of how his team played was shared by Vegas head coach Peter DeBoer.

"Hard to explain. We didn't have great legs. Didn't have great execution. You have to give them credit, they played a great road game," said DeBoer when asked about his team's performance.

"We've got to find a way. You've got to find a way against good teams and pressure and tension and a good goalie. Those are the teams that end up standing at the end of the day. We've got to find some answers. I know we're going to be better than we were tonight."

DeBoer refused to blame captain Mark Stone, who is pointless in the series against the Montreal Canadiens so far and whose turnover was responsible for the Canadiens' third goal Tuesday night.

"This isn't a night where we are going to pile on people. It was an off night by everybody," said DeBoer. "Everyone's in that boat, not just Mark Stone."
