The Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights were the victims of a shoddy Game 3 call in Montreal on Friday night, and it appears that the NHL will not make any changes in the referees for Game 4 on Sunday.
Due of the pandemic, the NHL is sticking with Chris Lee and Dan O'Rourke in Game 4, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports and the NHL Network, which has many Habs fans fuming.
There were plenty of botched calls/missed calls in Friday's Game 3, including a nasty high-stick on Habs winger Corey Perry, which left the veteran forward bloodied and in need of repairs. You can see the clip below:
Marchessault's high-stick was pretty blatant, and away from the puck as well. Those are calls you simply have to make.
The hope, at least from the Habs' perspective, is that Lee and O'Rourke had a chance to go back and watch some video and will come back a little more focused and aware for Game 4.
The Canadiens own a 2-1 series lead over the Golden Knights in round 3 and are looking to go up 3-1 on Sunday, with a chance to punch their ticket to the Finals on Tuesday back in Las Vegas.
