Phil Kessel (who's newly engaged) was unsure if he can save his iron man streak.
His plan was to fly back home to witness the birth of his daughter and stay for a few days with his fiancée.
He reportedly was fully prepared to not give the consecutive games streak a second thought until his fiancée Sandra convinced him to do both! Witness the birth of his daughter and fly straight back to Arizona and catch his next game!
Phil ended up making it back in plenty of time, so it's safe to say the plan worked out perfectly.
Boys, find yourself a wife like Phil the Thrill did!
