As GM Ken Holland and the struggling Oilers look desperately to improve their situation, they are reportedly willing to trade assets including second round draft picks and below, prospects or roster players in an attempt to shake things up. According to TSN's Ryan Rishaug, the attention in Edmonton is on Holland.
Pat Maroon is reportedly one of the players that Ken Holland is interested in acquiring. Maroon spent three seasons in Edmonton and scored a career high 27 goals in the 16/17 season while playing on a line with McDavid.
Although Maroon is not the piece that is going to completely turn around the Oilers season, he could be someone worth acquiring. While he isn't known for his offensive abilities, he plays a hard nosed game and bolsters a very impressive playoff resume as he has won multiple Stanley Cups in recent years. This veteran presence could help to improve a struggling locker room.
Whether it be Pat Maroon or any other acquisition, it seems that Ken Holland needs to make a move soon as the pressure mounts from ownership and the Oilers faithful.
