Goaltender Tuukka Rask is clearly not available. Rask, who will miss a large part of the upcoming season due to major hip surgery, has reiterated his desire to play in Boston and Boston only.
In an interview during the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon, Rask said:
"I am so lucky to have played for one team in my NHL career. For me, the only thing that matters is the pride of playing for one organization and one organization only. I feel like the Bruins are my home, Boston is my home. I've always wanted to play and stay here."
Rask added that he wants nothing to do with a 7 million contract or starting a bidding war:
"I just want to help the team, I'm a veteran goalie and there are young goalies coming up, so however I can help the team, I'm going to do it and finish my career in Boston."
"There are a few of us players along with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand who have played our entire careers together, I think it would be a shame to go somewhere else and try to chase more money or more chances to win when you have the chance to finish your career with the same gang you started with."
Boston always has this way to attract loyal players.
