It appears Robin Lehner is perfectly fine sharing the crease with Marc-Andre Fleury in Las Vegas.

The Golden Knights goaltender said Saturday that he's grown very close to Fleury and considers it an honor to play alongside him.

When the Golden Knights signed Lehner to a five-year contract in October, it was expected that he would take over as the starter from Fleury. However, due to an injury that kept Lehner out for the majority of the season, Fleury was named the team's No. 1 goalkeeper.

During the 2020-21 season, Fleury had one of his best seasons in the NHL and was named a Vezina Trophy finalist for the first time in his career. With a 1.98 goals-against average and.928 save percentage, he went 26-10-0.

Despite the fact that Lehner was healthy heading into the playoffs, the Golden Knights chose to keep Fleury in net for the first two rounds of the playoffs against the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche.

Fleury also made four appearances against the Montreal Canadiens before being replaced by Lehner after the former Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender faltered.

Fleury's contract has one more year left on it before he becomes a restricted free agent after the 2021-22 season. During his farewell interview, the 36-year-old stated he hasn't given much thought to his future but hopes to finish his career in Las Vegas.
