He has recently joined a podcast and revealed why the Maple Leafs have had no success.
«If you want to win, leave some money on the table,» Kesler said. «You wonder why Toronto struggles. Toronto struggles because they have two young players making too much money. Whatever happened to the bridge deal that you set yourself up for a championship team?»
He makes a really good point. Why give away 23M$ to 2 players when you could of bridged them to way cheaper contracts and acquired another player or two to help you get that Stanley Cup?
