The Seattle Kraken will have to announce their roster for the expansion draft on July 21. The teams will have until July 17, at 5 p.m., to submit their protection list to the NHL.

So far, it is not clear which players Seattle will be interested in, but we can see them.

The Philadelphia Flyers have made an important decision regarding one of their long-time players. We're talking about veteran Jakub Voracek, who has played the last ten campaigns of his career with the Flyers.

Selon les dernières informations d'Elliotte Friedman, l'organisation de la Pennsylvanie aurait décidé de ne pas protéger l'attaquant tchèque, dans le but de le rendre disponible pour le Kraken.

Ron Francis, the general manager of the new team, will most likely be looking to add some veteran players to his roster to hopefully be competitive in their first year. An established veteran like Voracek could likely help them, considering what he is capable of. He has five 60+ point seasons behind the tie, including an 81 point season and an 85 point season. He may not put up that many points in a season again, but he can definitely bring his share of offense. The 31-year-old is coming off a 43-point season in 53 regular season games, while being considered a player on the decline. Pretty respectable, right?

A partnership of this magnitude would make tremendous sense. The head coach of the Seattle Kraken is none other than Dave Hakstol, former Flyers pilot. This one was the man in Philadelphia between 2015 and 2019.

Hakstol could personally ask his boss, Ron Francis, to select the winger, given their chemistry. However, it would be a good idea to select number 93. Voracek has a very hefty contract totaling a hefty $8.250 million annually per season for three more seasons.

However, if Hakstol was able to reignite the flame in Voracek, as he once did, it could be a major force acquisition for the Kraken.
