The St. Louis Blues are searching for extra firepower this summer as they aim to bolster their top-six forward core. The Blues are keeping an eye on the Calgary Flames, especially Matthew Tkachuk, according to STLToday.
Ben Frederickson had this to say about the Blues interest in the Flames pest:
"Unlike some, I don't think the Blues need to massively rebuild this offseason. What they do need, though, is a decision on their direction. If the Berube-preferred style is the right direction, and the Blues have a ring that suggests it should be, the team needs to start prioritizing players who can and will play that way, every game, no matter what."
The fit with head coach Craig Berube makes a ton of sense and so does the fact the Blues were home to Matthew's dad Keith for decades.
As for the Flames, they are going to make some deals this summer, but it's believed they plan to keep Tkachuk and are more open to moving Sean Monahan, Elias Lindholm and Johnny Gaudreau.
