It appears as though the Columbus Blue Jackets are preparing to move on from forward Max Domi in the final year of his two-year, $10.6M deal.
This bit of news isn't all that much of a shocker, given how mightily Domi has struggled to find his game in Columbus, posting just 24 points in 54 games for the Blue Jackets, just two short seasons after posting 72 points in 82 games for the Montreal Canadiens.
The news of the Blue Jackets shopping Domi was brought up by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman during the most recent edition of the 31 Thoughts podcast.
Friedman suggested on the pod that the Blue Jackets simply don't see a fit for Domi in the organization and have already begun shopping him around to see if they can find him a better fit.
Domi, of course, was the piece that came back to the Blue Jackets in the Josh Anderson trade last offseason.
Domi, 26, has now seen time with 3 different teams over his 6-season NHL career in Arizona, Montreal and Columbus.
