The Vegas Golden Knights have punched their ticket to the semifinals with a thrilling 6-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in round two to topple the Avs and secure a 4-2 series win on Thursday.
Following the win, the Golden Knights took a bit of a shot at the Nashville Predators, who lost in round one to the Carolina Hurricanes this year, asking the Preds on Twitter if they should hang a banner for winning the West Division title.
The Golden Knights, of course, were referring to the Preds' 2017-2018 Central Division Champions banner hanging from the rafters at Bridgestone Arena.
The Preds did not take long to fire back at the Golden Knights (who also have a Pacific Division Champions banner from the same year hanging from the rafters at T-Mobile Arena) with a hilarious edit of Vegas' Western Conference Champions banner, blacked out, with the text "This Is Why Nobody Likes You 2017-Present" in its place.
If nothing else, it's good to know that teams haven't lost their sense of humour over the last year and a half as they, like the rest of us, have suffered through the pandemic.
