Voit played his first season with the Sarnia Sting managing 28 points in 49 games. The next season was the season no OHL games were played. In the 2021-22 season, after being drafted, Voit posted 80 points in 67 games. He followed that up with 105 points in 67 games, which would end up being his final OHL season with the Sarnia Sting. He was also a point per game in the playoffs for the Sting as well.
Voit was hoping to make an impression on the Maple Leafs during training camp but ended up being injured during the Traverse City Prospects Tournament. He just came back at the end of November, and was assigned to the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers on December 1st. In five games, Voit has eight points and already appears to be too good for the ECHL.
It may take a bit for Voit to make the NHL roster this season, as there is still quite a bit of competition ahead of him, even in the AHL. Even with the salary cap going up a potential $4 million, from $83.5 million to $87.5 million, Toronto will still be very tight to the upper limit of the salary cap.
Voit's low AAV salary could help his chances to make the NHL roster in 2024-25. It may just be enough for this season for Voit to be called up to the Toronto Marlies in the AHL first.
