According to Eric Engels of Sportsnet, the Red Wings and Stars are very interested in acquiring Jeff Petry this summer.
As for the Red Wings, Steve Yzerman had no interest in acquiring the defenseman, given that his team will not participate in the playoffs.
In the Stars camp, with John Klingberg looking for an $8M per season contract and Jim Nill also needing to sign Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson, Petry would be the ideal back-up.
