A former member of the Winnipeg Jets' AHL affiliate's coaching staff, Richard Bué, passed away unexpectedly.
Between 2016 and 2022, Bué worked in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose as a video coach. He tragically passed during the last weekend, at only 44 years old.
The Moose shared an official statement, in which they expressed their condolences to his family, friends, and teammates:
"The Manitoba Moose and True North Sports + Entertainment are heartbroken by the passing of former Moose video coach Richard Bue.
Our friend will be dearly missed by all those who had the fortune of knowing him.
Our sincerest condolences go out to Richard's family, friends, and teammates."
Many people went on X to share their tributes to Bué. A reporter covering the Jets and the Moose shared the last text message he sent him, to congratulate the reporter for his 15th career anniversary in hockey:
When Richard Bue stepped away from the Moose a few years back to be closer to family in Ottawa, I wrote this:
«Bue is one of the best people I've ever met in hockey.»
Just a great guy.
We continued to chat and his last message to me was a congrats back in Feb.
Will miss him.
We'd also like to express our condolences to everyone affected by this tragic loss.
