It's the rematch that everybody wanted. After Matthew and Brady Tkachuk did their best to try and set the tone for their last game, Canada is coming back for vengeance after securing a 5-3 win over Finland.
But with us waiting with bated breath for Thursday to roll around, if you're looking to get to see it in person -- be prepared to empty your wallet.
That's right. You're going to be forking out at least $1,200 to find a seat at TD Garden. Is this just an attempt by the NHL to milk its fans?
Getting to see the 4 Nations Finals in person is being part of a historic clash that will no doubt have some major fireworks included. To put things into perspective, the seats above would be roughly $250 CAD -- at a Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens game nonetheless.
When the NHL's most expensive market is offering tickets at one-fifth of the price of the Finals shows just how important this matchup is and also just how much the NHL has truly invested in the tournament; it's basically like paying for the Olympic Gold Medal Finals from 2010.
The first game between the two ended up with an astounding 4.4M viewers -- the most viewed non-Stanley Cup televised game in six years; who knows the kind of numbers that Thursday will bring.
Knowing the stakes ahead of time, there's going to be so much word of mouth about the Finals that the 4.4M people could potentially double which would make the NHL salivate.
To put that into perspective, that would beat out the 8.54M viewers during Game Seven of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals between Vancouver and Boston, and would rank it second behind only the Finals matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens in 1971 -- drawing an absurd 12.41M viewers. With how much the NHL values advertising and ratings, this is the best possible scenario for them. But if you're a fan who loves to watch the game in person -- you might need to get a payday loan to cover it.
