NHL Insider Chris Johnston threw some fuel on a Brad Marchand trade fire as he hinted that the Bruins captain could find himself in a much different location.

With the NHL Trade Deadline approaching, the rumors are hot and heavy when it comes to players on the move. We've seen some pretty significant names being thrown around in trade talks, with more sure to come.

One name that was bounced around a bit was Boston's Brad Marchand. While the long-time Bruin would be a great addition to a team, it's hard to see him in anything else but black and yellow.

But NHL Insider Chris Johnston believes that Marchand will not only be dealt, but that his destination is going to be out west:

Absolutely [he could be dealt]. He did suffer an injury but the feeling had been all along he wants to remain in Boston but what I can tell you, there is no confirmation of a trade but word around the league is that he will be traded by the Bruins at some point to the West.

It would be a genuine surprise to see Marchand traded out of town, but as we've already seen with Mikko Rantanen; never say never.

Marchand, 36, has 47 points in 61 games (21G, 26A) with 62 PIM and a minus-8 rating in 18:26 TOI.

The veteran has spent his entire 16-year career with the Bruins since being drafted 71st overall in 2006. He's won a Stanley Cup, and has been one of the greatest Bruins in the modern day.

In 1090 career games, Marchand has 976 points (422G, 554A) with an astounding plus-284 rating. Also a soldi playoff producer, he has 138 points in 157 games (56G, 82A).

Marchand has made it known to everyone how much he loves Boston, and if GM Cam Neely deals him, will be the true end of the once powerful Bruins dynasty.

Since it's more than likely he's being dealt out West, the teams who could use a presence like his are Vegas, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Los Angeles. The Kings have shifted gears off Mikko Rantanen, so there's potential they focus on trying to get Marchand instead.

Though there's nothing concrete as of yet, where there's smoke; there's fire.

And deadline day is going to be an absolute inferno.
