Johnny Gaudreau's family shares heartfelt obituary
We now know when to expect the funeral for Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau to take place, and how fans can participate from home.
In the days since the tragic deaths of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, the NHL world has gathered to pay their respects for the brothers. While no one ever wants such a tragic event to take place, it is nice to see the strong sense of commodity in the hockey community, as fans turn to each other for support in this difficult time.
The following is an excerpt from Johnny's obituary.
"Fame and stardom aside, John was a quiet and simple person. Spending time with his loved ones was what he cared about most. His family members were his best friends, and his best friends were considered family. In addition to his excellent 10-year NHL career, he loved all types of competition: men's softball league in the summer, backyard cornhole, darts in the garage, betting hole by hole during a golf round, card games, or racing at word search puzzles. He made everything more fun, and there was always something on the line to play for. And he always won."
The Bluejackets have already confirmed that the services will be held at 12PM CST on Monday, the 9th. They also confirmed that the event will be livestreamed so fans can participate from around the world.
Tune in Monday to witness the funeral services for yourself.
