The Toronto Maple Leafs have not looked very sharp to start the season. They currently have a record of 5-4-2, good for fourth in the division.

That is a lot lower than many expected them to be as quite a few assumed the Leafs would be leading the division and even the entire NHL.

Leafs projected line up

The Leafs projected line up to play the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 6 will have some changes to the roster up front.

Matthew Knies moves up to the top line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, while Calle Jarnkrok moves down to the third line, and Max Domi shifts to center.

Center is not a new position for Domi as he has played there in his time in Dallas, Chicago, Carolina, and Montreal.

Domi's thoughts

Domi has just four points through 11 games this season as he is not really bringing the production the Leafs hoped he would bring to the bottom six yet.

Domi was asked on his thoughts on his move to center.

"At this point in this career, I'll play left wing, right, wherever you need me to play. It's all for the better of the team so if that's what Keefer feels is best for the group then I'm ready to do that."

Sheldon Keefe commented about Domi playing center as well.

"They're usually coming at the end of power plays, penalty kills and stuff like that. He's done a pretty good job of it on the fly, but he hasn't had the practice reps and want to make sure he got that today."
