The talented netminder has dealt with injuries his entire career, so when he was taken out of the starters net with no clarity, fans got worried.
Matt Murray was supposed to start against the Ottawa Senators, but out of nowhere, Ilya Samsonov came in to make his fifth straight start.
Despite the crushing 6-2 loss to the bottom-of-the-pack Senators, only one question was on reporters' minds - what was wrong with Matt Murray?
In Sheldon Keefe's post-game interview, he gave some clarity on the situation:
Luckily the flare up had nothing to do with his LTIR-inducing adductor injury from earlier in the season.
Hopefully this is a short-term injury, as we know how important stability in net is in the playoffs.
