Today Kevin Weekes was able to provide a major update on a huge developing situation in Calgary. New updates have been provided on top four defenseman Nikita Zadorov.
Weekes Delivers Major Update On Flames Defenseman
A couple of weeks ago Kevin Weekes reported that Nikita Zadorov had requested a trade.
Fresh off a goal and big hit tonight against the @MapleLeafs, I'm told that D Zadorov through his agent @GoldStarHockey Dan Milstein has requested a trade from the @NHLFlames. #HockeyTwitter
Milstein would go on to essentially confirm this via social media later on.

Today Kevin Weekes provided an update on the developing trade market for Zadorov. It includes the Maple Leafs who were mentioned in Dan Milstein's post. As well as the New Jersey Devils and Dallas Stars.
I'm told @NJDevils , @DallasStars , and @MapleLeafs are among the clubs expressing interest in @NHLFlames D Zadorov, and the expectation is that discussions could ramp up when #LeafsForever return from the @NHL

All of these teams are seen as contenders that could use a boost on defense. Zadorov is a big defense first presence on the back end. The Maple Leafs in particular have been searching for a defenseman like this.
With a player in such high demand, the price to trade for Zadorov will likely be high. Once the Maple Leafs are back in town we might be able to find out some specific trade packages being offered.
