Wild and Lightning swing trade for former cup Winger
The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded Patrick Maroon & Max Cajkovic to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for the 2024 7th Round Pick.
As well, Tampa will retain 20% of Maroon's salary, set to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Maroon, 35, has spent the past 4 seasons with the Lightning, having won the Stanley Cup for the St. Louis Blues in 2019, and then being apart of 2 Stanley Cup wins for the Lightning in 2020 & 2021, being the first NHLer to win 3 consecutive cups since Mike McEwen and Billy Carroll between 1980-1982 with the New York Islanders.
Cajkovic, 22, was a former third round pick of the Lightning, who played in both the AHL & ECHL and is under contract until 2024.
