Treliving has added some interesting players to his roster, but before he considers adding more, he needs to decide who should go.
Negotiations with Nylander haven't been going smoothly, according to reports. It's said that there's a $2 million gap between what Nylander is asking for and what the Leafs are willing to offer. Trading him would make sense. If not before the season, it could be at the deadline. Either way, his days in Toronto are probably numbered.
Nic Robertson hasn't been able to prove that he deserves a full-time spot on the team. In 31 NHL games, he has scored only seven points. It will be hard for him to make his way into the Leafs' lineup this year. There's only a year left on his entry-level contract, which could help the Leafs get the best possible return for the young winger.
The Leafs managed to place Matt Murray on the LTIR, but they might decide to trade him at some point before next summer. If they can get a draft pick for him, they'll likely take it.
