The San Jose Sharks and the Buffalo Sabres announced that they made a trade involving 1st round picks, only a day from the NHL draft.

In breaking news, it was reported that the Sabres traded their 11th overall pick to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for the 14th and 42nd overall picks.

The Buffalo Sabres have acquired a 1st-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft (14th overall) and a 2nd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft (42nd overall) from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 1st-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft (11th overall).

The Sharks are set to speak at the 1st overall rank, confirming Macklin Celebrini's fate in the NHL. It'll be interesting to see who they'll grab with the 11th pick, but many interesting candidates could tempt the Sharks' scouts.

In San Jose, fans can't wait to see who will be available at the 11th rank, as this pick could end up being Celebrini's teammate for years to come.

With multiple defensemen available, and the Sharks' offensive prospect pool, they could be interested in adding talent at the blue line.

More to come.
