The Toronto Maple Leafs have a critical game tonight against the Seattle Kraken. Now we have seen the lineup and there are a couple of surprising changes.

It was revealed this evening that Sheldon Keefe is healthy scratching veteran defenseman Mark Giordano as well as rookie forward Bobby McMann in favor of Connor Timmins on defense and Nick Robertson up front.

This is another chance for Nick Robertson to get on the coach's good side and earn a steady spot in the Leafs lineup. For Giordano this could be a maintenance day considering his age and the brutal schedule the team has had lately. That being said, his play has not been great as of late, but Keefe has also shown little faith in Timmins, who has also not played up to expectations in his limited ice time this season.

Sheldon Keefe said former #SeaKraken captain Mark Giordano will be scratched tonight for Conor Timmins. Also, Martin Jones will be backing up Ilya Samsonov. 😬

Don't they know we enjoy a good storyline?!

Stay tuned to see how the game shakes out. If Timmins and Robertson play well they may earn their spot in the lineup for another game. If not, we could see further lineup changes in the games to come.
